Located in the communes of Macau and Ludon, Chateau Cantemerle, designated a great growth in the famous 1855 classification, has deep fine gravel soil. A blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Black fruit aromas with spicy notes. On the palate dark berry flavors, a touch of pepper on smooth fine tannins. Long finish, well structured on a fresh ending. Needs decanting or a few more years in the cellar. Tasting Sample.

Generous blackcurrant and cigar box with some garden herby notes, fantastic structure with a full life ahead. Enjoyed with local grass/fed moo!

(**) soft, approachable and surprisingly fruit forward; black currant, soft florals on the nose; juicy, red fruits on the palate; little structure or oak

Aromas of briars black currant, lead pencil, meaty and cedar box. Med bodied, and structure overtakes fruit but let's see with a NY Strip!

Super generous. Full on fruit. Crisp acids. Silky. Great bottle.

Impressive, everyone knows the precocious nature of the 2009s from Bordeaux, but this is showing plenty of acidity and of course full grain tannins. Wonderful aromatics, currants, fresh cut flowers, roasted coffee and toasty oak. The palate is impressively compact still after an hour, like a tightly coiled spring. A long tannic and red fruit finish. Bravo! #bdx09
