Blackberry jam nose with some leather, tar and leaf litter. Color is quite opaque and garnet with just a little bricking. Lots of dark ripe fruit and preserved fruit on the palate. Full body, quite rich, powdery, and tannins still quite prominent. Very satisfying. Just entering its prime- may be better in 5-10.

Bordeaux improves with age so reliably, I hope I can keep my hands off some of this long enough to see it mature. This bottle had very Margaux like perfume, big dark fruit and a long finish. This is richer than most claret we drink, but still has the acidity needed for pairing with steak. #steakandclaretnight

Wow- this is how I remember some of the excellent 1990 vintage Bordeaux's at this age! The texture has arrived, but the wine is loaded with currant fruit. This had the acid to cut the waygu ribeye and more complexity than I expected.

Sleeper of the vintage? Yes, doubtless! Ultra-classic? Graceful and elegant with rounded off tannins, still providing a positive grip which frames the traditional fruit profile. Long, fresh finish.

1hr+ decant and needed every bit. Dark red color with purple rims. Dark cherries, stewed fruit, and graphite on the nose. Well balanced wine that is chewy with a lovely, gritty texture. Medium finish. Much better than my bottle in London.
