Total Bordeaux package- wet cedar, licorice and black currant, malted milk ball, Turkish tobacco- palate is a complex medley of interwoven fruit, toasty oak, and bitter earthy flavors with a hint of menthol. Chewy with a super long finish.

Medium+ intensity of aromas and flavors. Black fruits and spices on the nose and palate. Medium+ finish. Solid. No Brett as others commented, clean. #hautmedoc #hautmédoc #grandcruclassé

The acidity in this wine is searing, a pity given that Carmensac is a Grand Cru Classé. I can only guess that it's one of the 2011 vintage that didn't fare well. Aromas of blackberries, black currants and black cherries are bolstered by vanilla and cedar. It's quite thin and tight on the palate, lacking in generosity, with (as previously mentioned) very high acidity, firm tannins and a green, cedary finish. 13.0% ABV |

Crazy amounts of Brett and badly corked, sadly... 2000 vintage.

Hmm- a little soft and bretty, but tastes like velvety old bordeaux

The château owner said to me, "We are the least expensive Cru Classé but we are not the least good." Agreed! Nose was overt, tannins were gentle, acidity was vibrant. Catchy packaging, too.

Tannins still high this wine could likely age for another few years. No signs of age on this at all - 2008 vintage

Bright cherry and red plum aromas with a whiff of cassis and graphite. Nice acidity throughout the palate with a juicy undertone. Tannins are still grippy but velvety as well. Turns a little savory at the end. Improved markedly with time in the glass.
