Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🍽!

A Thanksgiving cheers to Chateau Boswell. We hope they rise from the ashes like a Phoenix soon.

When this crosses the palate, you have no doubt you are drinking Sonoma Chardonnay. It shows; edgy chalky volcanic backbone, green & golden apple, syrupy overripe pineapple, tropical melons, lime candy, white stone fruits, buttered popcorn, saline, caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, Lemonhead candy with yellow lilies, spring flowers and mixed greens. The acidity & viscosity are excellent. The finish is lush, well crafted & balanced with high polish that persists minutes.

The structure & backbone in this Chateau Boswell will be perfect for our brined turkey. However, still well deserving of more cellaring.

17’ Château Boswell True Course Chardonnay. Sourced from the 1/3 of each Rued, Ritchie, & Sebastopol Vineyards in Sonoma County.
Melka with a home run Chardonnay!
Wow... this Chardonnay is playing in the deep end. Full- body to say the least. Pear, peach, honeycomb. Perfect amount of acidity/minerality from the center of the palate to the back. Top 10 bottles of California Chardonnay I’ve had this year.
Edit - Throw this into a decanter for a short period of time.

Fantastic stuff and drinking at its pinnacle. Great from the get go. Savory, creamy, tropical fruit driven and balanced. Has it all. There is a richness to this and a bit of a waxy characteristic. Popcorn kernel, lemon cream, lemon tart and honeycomb. So good.

The nose is soft and delicate. Meyer lemon, pineapple, lime, cream, touch of melted butter, melon, soft chalkiness, hint if green apple, honeysuckle, fruit blossoms, light caramel notes, saline and spring flowers.

The body is full round. Texture is amazing. Mouthfeel stunning! Meyer lemon, pineapple, lime, cream, touch of melted butter, melon, soft chalkiness, hint if green apple, honeysuckle, fruit blossoms, light caramel notes, delicate soft white spice, saline, yellow lilies and spring flowers. The acidity is perfect. Their wood use is very subtle as few in Napa do. The finish is perfectly textured, balanced, seamless, elegant, persistent and delicious.

Photos of, their Estate hillside vines over their cellars, their caves which show a fault line in the upper left of the photo, private tasting area in their cellar, Estate vines in front of their property.

Interesting sharp upfront. The acidity mellows after 30 min. Golden apple, Bosc pear, ginger bread. Medium bodied, high-alc, sophisticated. (House style?). This wine would probably age forever.

After some air and it warming up a bit, it reminded me of an Aubert. Lush, but not weighty. Tropical, but not overly fruit forward. Balance.
