This Grand Vin Beychevelle is in a beautiful window, like most 2005’s that I would characterize as brilliantly elegant as opposed to brut strength. Medium to full-bodied, with soft tannins, texture and purity.

Beautiful Bordeaux. Smooth tannins, balanced acidity, well developed fruit.

Great vintage from a favorite Chateau! Overall showing the power of the year and it is well preserved. Sharing with friends on my 72nd Birthday 😀🍷🍷🍷

1989. Holding up great. Still pretty young and ripe.

Had a Beychevelle vertical tasting dinner with the vintages 1975/1985/2009/2015, the 1975 it’s still elegant with deep ruby color, black currants, plum, leather and black tea on the nose. Nice talked with Romain DUCOLOMB- the technique director of Chateau Beychevelle, and learned so much about their wines.
