Château Beau-Séjour Bécot
Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend
Nose presents as unripe blue fruit, palate gives cherry and herbs. All gauges read "Medium". Definitely ready now for full enjoyment. Alc may be Med+. Finish is delicious and very long. This is a great wine.

The 2020 Beau-Sejour Becot is a dense, powerful wine. A rush of black cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather, licorice, spice and sweet oak builds as this towering, vertically explosive Saint-Émilion opens in the glass. This is an especially broad, expansive Saint-Émilion, much of that attributable to the clay in these soils. The 2020 is magnificent in its intensity and overall volume. Superb. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2023)

Feb 23rd, 2023Opened this one too soon. All I could taste was tannin. I’d give it 3-4 more years

Jul 7th, 2021A blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc and 5% Cab Sauv, aged 65% in new French oak, deep Ruby with ripe fruit aromas & enticing herb notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry & blackberry, currant-like, with tobacco, cacao and smoky oak notes. Dusty fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy mineral tones, tried a while ago, opening up nice but will last for a decade+. Nice!

Nov 12th, 2020Dark plum and brooding fruit on the nose. Nice clarity and depth and quite fresh. Modernist in style but coming around now. Quite long.

Jun 14th, 2020Drank 2/16/20. Beautiful with a New York Strip.
No formal notes taken, but scents of plum, blackberry, mint, and tobacco. Flavors of black fruit. Nice balance, black fruit on the finish. Very nice. Ready to drink now, but will easily hold another 5 years.
