No decant; straight from the Cave. Lovely spice aromas here (cloves, cinnamon, walnut), supported by fine oak, tobacco and aged cigar box scents. Complex. Medium-body, still shy! Plums, dark cherries and an iron-like close on the still tight finish. Rich fruits shining through but tightly restrained by still lively tannins. Impressive.

Estate named Beau-Séjour in 1787 by General Jacques de Carle, proprietor at the time. Michel Bécot bought the estate from Dr Jean Fagouet in 1969 increasing vines from 10.5 hectares to 15, acquiring Trois Moulins plateau in 1979, kept the name Beau-Séjour Bécot. Blend of 87% Merlot, 9% Cab Sauv & 4% Cab Franc. Nice berry aromas, ripe cherry & fresh raspberry flavors with notes of sweet cacao & tobacco adding some toasty notes. Firm tannins, not overpowering, lingering ending with tangy sweet oak. Great value!

Part of multiple Saint Emilion tasting. Lush finish. Supple, elegant. Brown sugar. Dates. Dark chocolate hints.

Superior Premier Grand Cru from St Emilion. Black Cherry and Cedar notes on the nose. Lasting dark fruit and fig with nice tannin structure on the finish. This one can sit for 10 more!

True to 2010 Bordeaux form, the Beau-Sejour is showing dry dark black fruits, juicy blue fruit, star anise, asian spice, leather, lead pencil shavings, a tarry quality, strong oak but it's softened some. There is a sweet black fruit liqueur the comes out on the mid plate leading into the finish. This wine will be sensational but it will require patience. It's a 20 plus year wine if you want to enjoy it for all it will offer.
