Red wine from the Arribes Region of Spain. Grapes are grown in a National Park. Blend of Juan Garcia (80%), Tempranillo (10%), Rufete (5%) and Brunal (5%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of black fruits, smoke, grape cotton candy and purple flowers. Very ripe red and black cherry/berry fruit on the palate with additional notes of smoked meat, baking spices, tobacco, roasted tomatoes and smoky herbs. The tingle of carbonic maceration (aged in concrete) on the medium finish. No sign of oak aging. Nicely balanced and structured but extremely earthy, tannic and acidic. Reminds me of a very savory Cru Beaujolais.
