Red plum, currant with cedar and a hint of pencil lead. It is a bit thin and hot on the finish, but overall still an interesting and tasty Merlot! ($9) [10/5/2016]

Apr 19th, 2017Actually a really strong effort for being $10. Their website says they aren't making crazy thought-provoking wines, but instead varietally-correct wines with a sense of Washington state terroir. I'd say they hit home on both counts - definitely tastes like merlot (which is hard to say for a lot at and around this price point) with notes of red plums, cherries, and chocolate with a hint of oak spice and fresh herbs (think basil and herbs de provence). Nothing crazy but very enjoyable for a Tuesday night.

Feb 1st, 2017Aptly named, with silky smooth tannins, accessible black fruit, and a gently spiced finish. A crowd pleasing #glugglug

Dec 30th, 2016Patrick Cappiello said it best 'juicy, round, fruit forward, hint of sweetness that balances the acid, low tannin.' #greatvalue

Oct 29th, 2016Very smooth and more restrained, less jammy than prior vintages, this merlot is a great value at this price point. It is a sold mellow coffee berry flavor.

May 27th, 2019Dark red colour. Flavour and smell of licorice and vanilla with a touch of cherry through it all. Smooth tanins with a semi-dry finish. Strong aftertaste of vanilla. A complex wine that starts hard with a strong taste and tanins, but with a smooth semi-dry vanilla taste.
