A very pretty color of dark ruby with a brick rim.
Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium minus acidity.
Dry on the palate and fruit forward with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Showing blackberries, cooked plums, figs, spices, coffee, cedar, light vanilla, milk chocolates, herbs, alcohol, vegetables, light earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This 11 year old is peaking now and showing nice balance. The nose is just gorgeous once it opens up.
Not from a good vintage, but it held up pretty well.
Delicious right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Tannins show up after 30 minutes in the decanter.

I don't often travel west... But I like it, and I feel that (I know... Broken record) a blind with the old world style Calis, Bordeaux, an Niagara should happen soon.
