Lifted and pretty . Lovely lemon fruit. Polished mid palate with limestone and a long finish.

Not the greatest champagne year, but a wonderful example of a standout champagne that just needed a little bit of age to it. Charles Heidsieck has always been one of my favorite large house producers.

Right away, this showed a strawberry shortcake cookie profile. In the glass, copper color with plenty of bubbles. Sweet cranberry scone, orange zest, black cherries and black cranberries on the nose. Excellent mousse, creamy and absolutely open for business. I believe there is a decent percentage of still red wine here which shows in the vinous character. Ripping acidity. Similar to the aromatics this is mostly bright red/black fruit driven alongside a sweet/salty balance of yeast. Compared to the 2006, the finish is maybe not as complex/lengthy, but that’s a serious nitpick. This 2005 is a total home run for the vintage and will drink in this profile for at least 5+yrs.

The reason why I like bubbles so much . This Champagne spent over 30 years on the less. Truly incredible , complex , and fresh . Only 300 bottles released two years ago. Simply profound !

This is my first encounter with 2006 Charles Heidsiek Blanc des Millénaires⁣

I'm a big fan of 1995 which I tasted numerous times before. ⁣

My impression of 2004 was quite mixed. I did see the signature CH style to it, but I would prefer to keep it for a minimum of 5 more years in the cellar. I thought CH really rushed with it into the market.⁣

2006 release followed right after. I was even surprised why did they release it so soon. ⁣

I think I get the idea now. 2006 has everything you want. It has the ripeness of the fruit you expect from the warm vintage. Acidity is just right there. ⁣
Reductive style Chardonnay and signature popcorn flavour. Toasty and rich on the palate. That's exactly the blockbuster BdM we were all waiting for.⁣

So let's enjoy 2006 for the next 5 years till 2004 riches its full maturity!⁣

Bright citrus notes, butter, dried herbs, floral notes. She had softened some of the contours but this is aging at a glacial place.

An extraordinary bottle that is a near-perfect blanc de blancs. Medium gold in color, the wine has a beautiful mousse even at 25 years of age, with fine bubbles and a tantalizing aroma conveying powerful primary, secondary and tertiary notes. The nose shows fresh and preserved lemon, green and golden apple, acacia, hawthorn, hazelnut, wet stone and flint. On the palate, the wine is dry but has a wonderful medium-bodied richness. There is vibrant, high acidity that gives the wine great energy. Flavors include smoke, flint, wet stone, preserved lemon, green apple, golden apple, dried acacia, hazelnut, and a hint of roasted coffee along with a pleasant saline quality. The wine has a very long finish and is compelling to drink now though it can certainly age for another decade or more. Outstanding.

1995 Heidsick Blanc de Millenaires. Thanksgiving. Awesome! Drank this after the Pierre Peters Blanc de blancs, and this was much richer. Loved this champagne.
