Charles Dufour
Bulles de Comptoir #4 Champagne Blend
Blend of PN, C and pinot blanc (!) from -13 vintage with reserve wine from -11 and -10 (proportions not listed but should be PN-dominated); great deep golden color; large interesting nose of red and yellow citrus and mineral notes; rich and well-balanced taste of red grape fruit, white bread with honey, a soft creamy mousse and a long finish where I for the first time got a hint of the taste of a good quality burgundy red wine. Not too surprising as one of the grapes is the same, but a first for me and very clear.

Mar 1st, 2016In its prime. Plump and rich with an acid and mineral backbone that keeps everything in check. Chalky and deep. Unique texture from the Pinot Blanc in this cuvée. Bruised apple , brown sugar, lemon. Soft texture with flavors of key lime pie and lemon juice. Long lemon custard finish with prominent minerality. Maybe it has been a long time, but i really love this wine right now.

Dec 29th, 2017This is the jam. Never disappoints. Rich and textural. Deep fruit, red and blue. Intense mineral backbone. So much bang for the buck here.
