This is the 2018 Chappellet Napa Valley Merlot from St. Helena, California. The blend is 76%Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot.
On the nose is plum sauce, raspberry, blackberry, fig, chocolate, coffee, anise and violets.
On the palate is cherry, raspberry, blackberry, black tea, licorice, herbs, mocha, oak and dark earth.

On the nose there was black cherry, blackberry, plum, chocolate, herbaceous notes, cedar and spice.
On the palate are notes of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, chocolate, french oak, cedar box and an earthiness.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a voluptuous smooth mouthfeel, medium + to high acidity and medium + fine supple tannins that lead into a long juicy dark fruit oak finish. Please stay safe and healthy and enjoy your weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Chappellet wine dinner. I've not had much of their wines and wanted to see if they are worth a visit when we are out for our yearly Napa trip in February!
This is a wine that I would say not only does it taste good, but it tastes like it should. Beautiful Merlot. Got some spice and cigar box on the lingering finish, but the palate was a great harmony of the fruit spectrum...raspberries, blueberries, gooseberries, blackberries.

1986, after a slight sweetness calmed down this turned out to be a very pretty wine. very soft with rich tobacco and hint cherry finish. well done

Lovely spicy Merlot, drunk a little early but still very satisfying. Slight dusty tannin rounding out the finish, would disappear with age, adds a lovely body to this outstanding example of an American Merlot.
