This is in amazing shape for 52 year old wine. Deep fresh fruit. Plums and gnarly herbal bores with a bloodiness and great body. Remarkable stuff and evolving still in the glass. Excellent

I used to own some 04’s-09’s that always over-delivered for around $36-$40ish. Now $80-$90. The 22 was good and showed me their quality & consistency over the many years hasn’t slipped.

Custom Lexus SUV made for tailgating, around $200K. It does sort of fly in the face of don’t drink and drive though don’t you think?

clear and pure with inky soured edges. Red fruit and salinity with a decent finish

Savory and bright with a touch of band aid. Some sour cherry fruit and a deep gnarly pluminess. A slightly peppery note in the finish

Joe Cafaro brought this to dinner.

Black cherry, raspberry preserves, cassis, dark chocolate, vanilla, licorice and oak. Full-bodied and soft tannins.

Very mature but a nice glass of wine.

Pretty orange but still interesting. Cork didn’t do its job very well.
