Gorgeous. Crushed dried flowers, potpourri, meat, warm stone, roasted red cherry and plum, white pepper, garrigue. A wonderful firmness underneath the heady Grenache fruit, from a structural standpoint it’s remarkably balanced from such a strong year

A phenomenal CdP. Sandy soils and typical Grenache. Beautifully delineated and exceptionally elegant. Started off a bit plummy and ripe but then turned into a truly nuanced wine. Hard to believe how good this is. Contact me if you want some

Candied black cherries, star anise and other sweet spices, bit of wood and tobacco. Very nice balance of acidity and tannins. Young but not offensive. Got some elegance to it.

Limpid magenta. Intense, mineral-tinged aromas of ripe red fruits, candied lavender, baking spices and incense show sharp delineation and energetic lift. Palate-staining red and blue fruit preserve flavors are complemented by floral pastille and spicecake qualities that firm up slowly on the back half. Distinctly rich but fresh and structured as well, showing superb finishing clarity, well-knit tannins and lingering floral and mineral notes. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2019)

Oh my! So yummy. Prime Rib roast and this raisin nectar were the perfect complement to each other on Christmas Day 🎄

Soy, white pepper, aircraft carrier of big plum jam and cranberry, a touch of heat on the finish, gentle allusions to leather, long way to go but good juice

Pop and pour. Notes from 24 hrs open (in the fridge overnight). While this was compelling yesterday, it is glorious today. On the nose: pure lavender, garrigue, soft cola and a touch of sweet incense, wow. On the palate: very good acidity, fantastic density, sweet blackberry, a touch of ash and heat, cola and a surprisingly dark finish, showing a smoldering warmth and very fine tannin. Seems like at least another 3-5 years before peak if this btl is representative. Absolutely gorgeous.

Pop and pour. Notes from about 2 hrs open. Hmm, this has darkened a lot in style. Still a touch of incense and red raspberry, but showing much more garrigue and olive tapenade than when it was younger. On the palate: solid acidity and just so giving. Very enjoyable and fun to drink next to a Betz Besoleil with similar age to compare new world--old school with old world--classically-styled.
