Tried this about 6 mos ago. Chalk Hill winery now owned by Bill Foley, of Foley Family Wines, who continues the traditions that Fred Furth, who founded Chalk Hill in 1972. The ‘17, the latest vintage, medium lemon color with aromas of stone, tropical fruits and citrus notes. On the palate ripe apple, sweet melon and lemon flavors with vanilla and nutty toasty oak. Well balanced on medium+ finish ending with oak and mineral notes. A favorite. Tasting Sample.

Brilliant $17 chard. Love this. Honeycomb and caramel on the nose. Freshly baked bread and almonds on the palate, complimented with apricots and orchard fruits. Finishes with subtle toasted oak. Such a great effort.

Chalk Hill winery now owned by Bill Foley, of Foley Family Wines, who continues the traditions that Fred Furth, who founded CH in 1972. Had this ‘17, a new vintage. Rich deep straw color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits and citrus notes. On the palate ripe apple, sweet melon and lemon flavors with gentle vanilla and nutty toasty oak. Well balanced on lingering finish ending with oak and mineral notes. A fav. Tasting Sample.

Smooth up front, a little tart at the finish. Earthy notes but also a hint of caramel.

Not much of a nose, beautiful light color, buttery on the palate with some crisp, light acidity, though it lingers on the back of the tongue. Lemon and surprisingly forward with light fruits.
