A real solid $20 Chard, Barrel aged 10 months sur lie! Medium lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with notes of warm baking spice. On the palate ripe apple and lemon flavors with vanilla and nutty toasty oak. Well balanced on medium+ finish ending, a bit buttery with slight oak and mineral notes. A favorite!! Drink now!

Sea breezes and orchard fruit! A very delicious wine. Needs some air though — at first the high ABV is a little obvious.

Tried this about 6 mos ago. Chalk Hill winery now owned by Bill Foley, of Foley Family Wines, who continues the traditions that Fred Furth, who founded Chalk Hill in 1972. The ‘17, the latest vintage, medium lemon color with aromas of stone, tropical fruits and citrus notes. On the palate ripe apple, sweet melon and lemon flavors with vanilla and nutty toasty oak. Well balanced on medium+ finish ending with oak and mineral notes. A favorite. Tasting Sample.

Brilliant $17 chard. Love this. Honeycomb and caramel on the nose. Freshly baked bread and almonds on the palate, complimented with apricots and orchard fruits. Finishes with subtle toasted oak. Such a great effort.

Chalk Hill winery now owned by Bill Foley, of Foley Family Wines, who continues the traditions that Fred Furth, who founded CH in 1972. Had this ‘17, a new vintage. Rich deep straw color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits and citrus notes. On the palate ripe apple, sweet melon and lemon flavors with gentle vanilla and nutty toasty oak. Well balanced on lingering finish ending with oak and mineral notes. A fav. Tasting Sample.
