very deep golden hue; honey, almond biscotti, baked apples, nutmeg; very thick and viscous, 21.1 grams RS but just enough acidity to prevent it from being cloying, 12.7% ABV; made from botrytised Sémillon; 375 mL, $45

Vanilla bean creme brûlée candied peach and apricot fruit honey hibiscus floral notes very complex bouquet of aromas. Very rich and creamy on the tongue with a ton of rich decadent fruit on the tongue creamy with a nude hand of acidity balancing put the sweet fruit. Finish 50+. Most excellent

Very sweet wine. Tastes much older than it is. Well made wine. A good, very sweet dessert wine.

Sticky capsule, must have leaked a bit. Breathed a sigh of relief upon opening, no harm. Wow. The nose is spot on - think of every type of overripe (molding) exotic tropical fruit imaginable, now with some dank, funky secondary aromas at this age. When I last tasted this vintage over a year ago, there was a significant oak influence on the palate, which seems to have faded to the background. Hugely viscous, and while the acidity doesn't quite match the sweetness, this is appropriately constructed and balanced. I have definitely had worse Sauternes.

Enjoyed at dessert last night! This semillon pairs well with banana pudding and white chocolate ice cream. Nose of funky honey and roasted pecans and peach preserves. Entry is sweet, thick, candied nuts and caramel in addition to a peaches and cream and honey character. Really went well with the banana pudding and better than expected with the white chocolate ice cream. Going strong.
