So I've avoided the 2012 in favor of the 2013, but when Costco closes out magnums at the price of singles then I'll bite, bigly.

It's clear this isn't the superstar that is the 2013, but its approachable charm is flattering. Black currant and crème de cassis meld with cedar and creamy mocha brings it all to a gliding finish. Some secondary licorice and coffee provide depth to this easy drinker.

Happy 4th! Live free and find great wine. Dark ink. Tight. Needs time.

Blackberries, cherries, ferns on the nose. A solid cabernet that paired well with my Ruth's Chris filet!

Great wine! Smooth big red. Easy to drink tannins. One of my favorite reds. Costco on sale $35 normally $50+

Great wine for a Christmas dinner. Strong fruit heavy finish. Let it breath and soak up some o2. The perfict wine with Prime rib and good friends.

Nice tannins, still young I need to ascertain another bottle and let it lay for a few more years.

Maybe opened ahead of its time. Tannic and not so pleasant initially. Opened up some after time, but didn't show the fruit I'd expect from a 2012.
