Slightly cloudy medium to deep ruby red. Beautiful Cali nose, coated in dark berries, black cherries, black and blue berries, cinnamon, almost like a snicker-doodle. Delicious. Moderate tannins (7.5/10) and a thick, rich, voluptuous full body. Complex and layered with dark cocoa, baking spices and cassis. Long and lingering finish. This 2007 isn't done yet. Drink till 2027.

Had from a 375ml. Holding up alright but the fruit isn't aging to well. In a couple of years this guy will have prune like characteristics that are starting to show. Drink em if you got em! Nice wine for sure.

07' Chalk Hill Estate Red. Half Cabernet Sauvignon the rest is a blending of PV, Merlot, Malbac, Carmenere.

Guilty as charged. I read the hype in 2010' and I said to myself I'll try a bottle… well tonight I tried it. Decanted for an hour. Tannins softened up & spices are a little more pronounced. Drinking with length and purpose. Red fruit, chocolate, lingering spices. Nice bottle of wine. 5+ years in it's prime.

It was a little disappointing. Good wine just very tannic. Maybe round out later, but just seems to unbalanced.

Amazing how this has held together. Very little sign of aging, unlike it’s imbiber. I’d guess that this could have gone another 15 yrs and remain delightful.

Four bottles of this over the last six years, and I preferred the earliest the best. I keep hoping this will evolve into something more interesting, but it really hasn’t yet, and the glorious fruit that was present early on is fading with time.

Beguiling and savoury. Cedar and currant nose, more intense tobacco-infused currant on the palate. Long. Young. Slight touch of heat. So different. Will undoubtedly get better. Food wine.
