Vernaccia di San Gimignano

Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG 2011, 12,5%. Bottle tasted in September 2014. Good color. Faint nose, not much emotions. A little tired in the mouth too: I think 2011 has passed it's best time by now.....

Wine from earlier in the year. Summer 2013, San Gimignano.

This wine was part of the 2020 Karen Ann Quinlan Virtual Tasting Pack. Deep Gold color. Yellow apple, apricot, honey, beeswax. Touch of vanilla and nuts on the finish. Aged in neutral oak. Round and full but not oaky. Pleasantly fresh tasting.

Dry yet very tasty. Excellent wine under the tuscan sun

It was my second wine from San Gimmignano. Maybe too much riserva for me. Tasted in Greve in Chianti #2, Enoteca Falorni.

2012: Nice, integrated minerality, not as pronounced as in their basic Vernaccia (which I actually like better). A little more complex, Drinking well now. Hats off to Cesani!!

This is the vineyard's cru version, but I liked their newer fresher one better
