Hacienda Secoya Vineyard Pinot Noir

Gorgeous wine really singing right now. The mocha notes right off the bat are incredible. I wish I had the discipline to lay these down for longer, but Jon makes some of the best Pinots in the New World, in my opinion.

Fruity. Red fruit. Almost ripe but ripe enough.

Also outstanding, this was much more layered than the Occidental Pinto we started with, and had much stronger acidity which made it perfect with some rich entrees. Cherries and plums with some earthy notes, medium bodied.

Wow; a totally different beast all together. More dank earth and funk on the nose of this one - underbrush and spices. Palate is creamy and smooth, crunchy berry fruit, darker toned. Nutmeg, Cassis. Great.

So fresh and so clean clean.

This is improving with bottle age. Lots of sweet red fruit on the nose at the start. Picking up a bit more earthiness that balances the fruit. Excellent acidity.

In the perfect spot…just beautiful. They are making some of the best California Pinot Noirs.

black cherries, rhubarb and espresso.

Ripe dark cherry notes, medium depth, long full finish.

Lush and balanced without the California Pinot funk. Also had the 16 and 17. All were excellent. With Katie, Meg G, and JP at Da Dong.
