Mar 26th, 2017Mushrooms a bit too present for so young a wine. Good acidity, length, and concentration but so-so complexity. Fruit was a touch ripe. Overly-candied tobacco flavor is dominant, without layers. Oak is integrated until the finish, when wood tannins bit my palate, and crippled my thirst drive.

Nose tar, black fruit. Powerful, not Burgundian. Still tannin, good acidity and fruit. Long. Not subtle, but characteristic. Old style. 17+
