Pure cherry, dry earth, old leather. Even a 30 min decant couldn’t bring out what I’m sure is eventually coming from this superb Barolo. Worth the wait, will improve big time in cellar.

A bit early to open this wine but I had the pangs for a Barolo. Quintessential Barolo. Opens to a tartness of cherries and spice. Amongst the layers, the fruit pops with a hint of earthiness, herbal notes and mushroom. This has the makings of a great vintage. With only a 1 hr decant, I'm rating this high on the speculation of what's to come. Clearly opened well before it's maturity.

Happy New year. I couldnt help but feel that I was comitting infanticide at the restaurant, but this wine was approachable with classic barolo notes of tobacco, licorice, and fragrant balsa. Light and surprisingly soft on the tannin, although that could've been the steak I was eating influencing that!
