Aromas of “musty hay in the barn.” (It’s a good thing!). But not full of Brett, which makes a bit less than typical. Lighter bodied because this vintage is primarily Grenache-based. Big notes of Baker’s chocolate and raw meat. Hints of herbs, spices, red fruits and a little bit of leather, tobacco and violet. Smooth tannins. Nice wine. Revisited in June 2020. Not your typical CDP.

Deep red with dark berry aromas and spicy notes. On the palate blackberry and plum flavors a bit of oak and tobacco with rustic tannins, good balance ending with earthy mineral notes.

One of the softest CNP I’ve had in a while; just easy drinking and mellow

Dark fruit flavors like cherries and plums. Earthiness. Medium body. Wine really opened up on day two.

Very smooth and light, hints of spice. Mellowed out as it breathed. Definitely not the best Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but worth its price.

3.4 Nice Chateauneuf du Pape, but bouquet is a bit shallow. Very smooth, with classic tastes, but not very flavorful. On sale for $19.99, regularly $24.99.

3.4. Wonderful full, complex French red, especially after it gets a chance to breathe. On sale for $19.99, regularly $24.99.
