Cellers Grifoll-Declara
Predicat Priorat Red Blend
A mouthful of plum and blackberry with briar notes. Tannins for structure but not intrusive. Pleasing wine.

Jan 1st, 2024Such a crushable #priorat - bramble fruit, warming spiced plum compote, wet stone nose. 45% #carignan; 45% #grenache; 10% #merlot with 9 months in French Oak. Delicious balanced palate with a beam of dark fruit, bright frame and rounded tannins on the finish. After a week in the wine fridge with a vacuum cork, the last glass only had a whiff of raisiny notes which speaks to a wine with longevity. Exceedingly strong QPR #costcowine.

Aug 25th, 2023Enjoyed as part of a tasting - we agreed this was easily the most interesting wine of the evening. Group enjoyed it most 40 minutes after decanting where dark fruit is at its most pronounced and balanced wonderfully against the earthy tree bark & leather that was present from start to finish. After a couple hours, leather gave way to a bit of shoe polish and the fruit became much more background.
Overall a wonderfully exciting, conversation-worthy wine at a great price point. This was our introduction to Priorat and we all agreed we will be seeking out more.

Unexpected surprise in Baqueira. Fine tannins and superb balance. No overblue fruit, just very pure.
