Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend

Dark strong ruby color. Mellow ripe fruit with a slightly sweet licorice-like spice on the nose, very little astringency. Fairly typical appassimento type flavor, rich dried/jammy fruit, starts sweet then finishes with a bit of dry tannins. Has a slight savory sweetness beyond the fruit akin to vanilla or licorice. Quite enjoyable, worth the couple dollars over my usual budget.

So I put this one up for a few years. After 10 years, the cork broke on removal. But I was able to get the rest out with little incident thanks to YouTube. The wine poured a beautiful blood red. The flavors were deep and jammy of dried fruits like other reviewers have mentioned. It is dry with a modest finish. Big surprise, tastes better than my more expensive Amarone.

Nice drinkable Trader Joe's bottle. No complaints and stayed pretty well through different meals.

Medium ruby in color; hibiscus, dried herbs, and graphite on the nose; medium acidity; medium tannins; tastes like cherries, pomegranates, eucalyptus, and a hint of cinnamon with a long finish. Nellie says it's ok, but I really like it.

2018 vintage was quite nice.

Has notes of blackberry and vanilla. Extremely okay and leaves a smoky aftertaste.

Dark, full-bodied. Smelled like blackberry and cranberry. Tasted notes dark fruit and light pepper, followed by vanilla. Mild tannins. A delightful choice for a wine at this price point. Purchased at Trader Joe's.
