Medium Ruby with aromas of blue and black berry fruits and oaky spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, blackberry and currants with floral spice cedar notes. Firm chalky tannins, medium+ finish, good balance ending with a fruit and spice character.

2018 vintage. 100% Marsanne. Partly fermented in oak. 15% of the volume went through malolactic fermentation. 75% aged in 400 liter oak casks. Cave de Tain is one of the best and reliable cooperatives in France with very good value for money. This Saint-Péray is no exception to the rule. Flowers and stone fruit with good structure and a mineral hint. Good length too. What would one ask more for 10,90 euros?

Jammy red fruit on the nose, summer pudding-esque. Spicy undertones. Redcurrant and cranberry, clove and allspice. Nicely balanced tannins.

Drank 9/6/20.

Excellent. See my earlier notes. Didnt show quite as well tonight, but great nonetheless.

Last bottle of 2019. A quality/price ratio of the most. Bravo the Tain cellar which produces very beautiful bottles at all prices with consistency and quality. The characteristics expected on a Crozes-Hermitages (expressive qualities of syrah) are present here: basket of juicy red and black fruits, peppery notes, rounded tannins merging with a smoked mineral weft, itself intertwined in floral notes of violet... the syrah we love, between opulence and finesse.

A crunchy syrah that honors varietal notes on the side of fruit and freshness. Juicy and peppery with pretty notes of violet. Elegance and greed. To drink within 5 years of the vintage.

Very enjoyable notes of blackberry, black cherry, and secondary flavours of chocolate and slight charred wood. Slight butter and cheese notes and a bit of spice.
