Delightfully light and fruity, closer to a basic NZ sparkling than anything around champagne. Will go back for more (Kris lounge in Sydney).

Apple and cut hay. Quite fruit driven, good body and texture with a bit of a tart finish.
Decent quality bubble. I'm sensing that the quality of this has come down somewhat recently, not a good move.

We recently felt like the ultimate comfort food - sausage swirls. So managing with our 1 pot, 1 knife and spatula, they actually turned out alright considering! I love to match these pastry, meat, cheese and potato swirls with bubbles as it refreshes the palate. This wee bubbles from the Burgundy Region in France is around the $15 mark and is made from 100% Chardonnay.

On the eye it’s a creamy pastel yellow colour. Notes of apples and lemon come through on the nose with a slight hint of nuts. In the mouth it’s juicy, fruity and easy drinking with a lovely soft effervescence. This is my kind of night in on a budget!

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine

We picked up this French sparkling from Liquorland for $16. Remember we can't call this bubbles 'champagne' as it's not made in the champagne region in France. It's actually made in the Burgundy region and as it's a Blanc de Blancs it's made from 100% Chardonnay. 'Cremant' means it's made the same way as champagne but just not from the champas region. The next best thing at a fraction of the price!

In the glass it's a baby yellow colour with a milky-way stream of bubbles. The nose reminds me of lemon curd cupcakes with some freshly cut apple slices on the side and a touch of toasty nuttiness. The palate is smooth, crisp and has a nice balance of stonefruit, citrus and biscuity flavours with a sprinkling of nuts. I'll be buying this again to satisfy my bubbly cravings!

Found this at a affordable price and was incredibly impressed. Well balanced beautiful acidity and a slight citrus note on the palate. A wonderful bottle for under 20!!
