This bottle was a bit closed, and seemed like it would re-emerge in a year or so. Also drank the 2012 the same night, which was much more fun.

Subdued notes of raspberry and vanilla, a bit mushy with bramble overtones. Lacked energy. A maker I haven’t had in years but I found this deep in my locker and pulled it. The enormous endowment pictured with the bottle really wanted to pose for a photo.....but as the evening progressed things went a little sideways—she fell on her big heels coming back from the bathroom and is now restlessly asleep on my couch. Nice person, less than optimum constitution. I don’t like to babysit.

Big fruit, fairly firm tannins. Pretty tart. Anise. Also excellent. No rush.

Decanted for 2 hours. Still very tannic, but good fruit behind the tannin.
