Bibiana came to Brasswood yesterday to talk about her wines and her storyline from Columbia to France to California. Showed her Donum Pinot and Russian river Chardonnay and Soberanes Syrah to the entire staff, barside. When asked about the obstacles to overcome in making fine wine here as opposed to there she answered, " there are no obstacles to making fine wine here in California. The obstacle is to do it , have access to the fruit and a means to make it. Otherwise , all preferences are for this place, California ."

2021 vintage. Syrah body on a pinot. Medium-heavy body. Big with both fruit and structure. Would like to taste again in 4-7 years to see how much body has thinned out. 2.7.24.

A friend makes this. I will only say, she is one of CA's best winemakers. Brilliant

Dark cherry, blackberry, baking spices, mushroom, with a green stem bite. This a big wine, that might could use some time in bottle to calm down... but not too long: richness might not be overly age worthy. Fine by me, I’ll wait a year and sample again.
