Slightly more meaty in style, balsamic touch , herbal , some dry spice , sweeter dried fruits , orange rind, certainly more development than the 2011. On the palate this also has a more meaty character , porcini , dried cherry , herbal hints and earthy notes . Quite fresh acidity and lightly grippy tannins. This shows a bit of age , but is still at the end of its drinking window . From now and over the next few years .

Cherry, cassis, leather, tobacco, all spice, eucalyptus. Classic Chianti, indeed. I'm sure my rating would keep going up if we had the patience to let this sit for a few more hours In the decanter.
