Now we’re talking. 2017. Drinking beautifully. Dark fruits, present and grippy but not overwhelming tannins. (Way more interesting than the Brunello I just tried.)

Nov 24th, 2022The 2017 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Ama San Lorenzo is a fabulous choice for readers looking for an Ama wine to drink now. Radiant and expressive, with striking depth and exceptional balance, the 2017 is pure seduction. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, rose petal, blood orange and spice fill out the layers effortlessly. This is so beautifully done. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021)

Sep 24th, 2021Too young but still very nice with a 5h decant - suggest checking back in another 3-5 years. Tannins are very present, but the fruit and earth are very nice. Good acid too, especially for a hot vintage.
