I don't know about 92 points, but I paid $22 for a 2011 Chianti classico riserva, and it's good. So it's a winner.

Dark purple in the glass. Shy nose on opening. Black cherry, plum, and licorice leather on the palate. Medium minus tannins (disappointing) and medium acidity (was hoping for a bit more there, too). Without looking at the composition, I'm guessing an inordinate amount of Merlot is taking too much of the edge off of the Sangiovese. A decent wine, but doesn't seem true to the appellation. This is a Classico Riserva, after all. For that, I'm marking it down a touch.

Dark purple color with soft tannins. Not what I expected. Aromas of Cherry and licorice. Flavors of dark cherries, plums, licorice and leather with hints of vanilla and cedar. More fruit forward then a typical Chianti Classico. Is this a blend of some kind? Still, a decent wine with good QPR. Ready to drink now.

Adoramos esse vinho. E um Chianti bem balanceado. Não muito fraco. Very smooth. Definitivamente vou comprar novamente.

Wine spectator rated this 92. I would get behind that...if they shared the crack they smoked prior to the tasting. This is a decent chianti, a bit heavy on the merlot I think muting the cherry on the nose, as well as any tar or earthiness I would expect from Sangiovese. It's a well made wine, and for $17 a decent value, but no 92
