Nov 22nd, 2019Not to be confused with Rocca di Castagnoli. This is “cool-climate” Sangiovese if you will. Medium bodied with an amplification of secondary flavors like smoke and leather. Cheap enough that you’ll want to throw some in your wild boar ragu and drink the rest while you cook. Cin cin!

Jul 14th, 2019Drank with Paul’s cinnamon, cumin, and raisin tomato sauce chicken over rice. The dark fruit and spice of the wine was a perfect pairing with the sauce and mild meat. The wine was a little softer and didn’t have the spice when by itself later. Still good but definitely better with food. Without food: plum, blueberry, very mild spice, slightly watery finish. Almost stewed fruit taste. Good Jarboe-closeout QPR. Would have a higher score if I’d only tried with food.
