That’s the stuff. Much more complex than the normal Barolo. Just a stunning nose. So much mineral, cherry flower and unreal nuances. Spice, iodine, just penetrating and so refined. Deep cherry fruit with a citrus twang. Really fine. Wow the cherry fruit aromas are absolutely knee bucklers. Just so fine, deep and precise. Wow the florals now kicking in. This is a 9.6 nose. Maybe higher. Wow that is a sexy beast. This needs 45 minutes as it is very tight right now. Stunning depth and purity but big tannins and acid and an incredible core of fruit. This is an obvious 9.5. off the bat but this, like the 16, needs mega air. Nose gets so complex and expansive as it airs. Huge fruit. But nuanced and complex. An airy sense of minerality. Almost like an ocean breeze. Okay nose is a 9.6 now. Just sick.

Palate becoming more concentrated. Fruit getting sweeter and sappier. But tannins still fierce and leading the way. Ahh now the elegance picks up and it gets more spherical and sweet. Wonderful.

The top wine at Sòt. Darkest color of all the wines so far but still very light in the grand scheme of things. Nose is fascinating with big boy sour cherries. So sappy and pure aromas with a wild herbal, mineral, feral side as well. Perfumed and elite but wild. Love it. Leather, tar, roses, tea. Wow what a palate. So refined and elegant. Super super elegant. It just floats. This is incredible. Nose led me to believe one thing but palate has me believing another thing. Really concentrated and just bonkers complexity and that insane Sòt freshness and transparency. Superb, actually elite structure. Really deep. A beautiful wine that has substantial tannins as it airs but deep fruit and just incredible minerality. So long and a taste of precise cherries and rocks on the palate. Nose opens up more with an insane penetrating perfume. Less wild, more of a crushed rock, mineral perfume. Again, that tiny hit of 16 opulence. This has linearity and energy for days. So pure. Young but man this is the bomb. So so promising.

Nose is intense cherry with some spice. Almost sing the lines of an elegant brunello. As this opens you get those deep fresh hand crushed rose petals that come to the fore.

Palate is intense fresh fruit. Just a super intense blast. Wow. Major acidity held in check by the fruit. As this opens this is borderline elite deliciousness.

Has this thing on the finish that implies it will explode in 3 years.

90 minute decant.
