After 45 mins in decanter this was Barolo from central casting. Tar and candied red flowers on the nose led a beautifully integrated and silky smooth fist full of old leather, dark cherry and fine tannins. Long, lingering finish. Nose got better over time. Excellent.

Red fruit, but dark red. Complex and just slightly tannic.

A real baby of a wine 2004 could be a grand vtge in both Tuscany and piedmont. Big wine with all the best attributes

Great wine. 2010 not quite there like the 2005 (9.3 vs 9.1). Tannic, but starting to show some soft vanilla and dark red and black fruits.

Opened after 5 hours of decanting. Vanilla really came through. Very tannic and astringent. Dried dark fruit.

Decanted 2 hours. Menthol up front and at the end. Strawberries galore. Cedar and tobacco. Lasts forever.

Very dry and tannic. Bold. Dark berries. Earth. Subtle vanilla. Tannins stick around but others flavors drop.

Big intense and full wine. Hints of cherry with a long finish. Bit a leather on the pallet. Very good Barolo.
