12' Casavecchia Alla Piazza Buondonno Chianti Classico. Ruby red in color . This is a perfect mid-week wine. Fortunate enough to have try this a few months back, just as I remembered. Edit- After a couple of hours opened. Violets and Strawberries on the nose. Tart-cherries, plum-skins, cider. A nice backbone of acidity, with light tannins. Extraordinarily well done for such a hot vintage. Cheers!

Oct 15th, 2016Slight sulfur on the nose but otherwise fairly closed. On the palate deep cherry plus cough drop, fine tannins provide great structure, good acid, pretty wine.
