So balanced. So pleasurable and drinkable. You will drink the whole bottle without even blinking (or thinking) Deep ruby color, pronounced aromas of blue and black fruit (blueberries, grapes, black cherries and cassis) herbal (mint, sage) and balsamic (eucalyptus) hints of oak (coffee and dark cocoa). Medium(+) body, medium acidity, medium ripe tannins and medium(+) finish. #carmenère #carmenere #chile #chileanwine

1 person found it helpfulJan 16th, 2014I picked this Chilean Carmenere for the latest #thetcwineclub as I fell in love with this grape variety when I was living and working in Dubai. I've not come across this producer, Casa Silva, before so I thought this would be an interesting one to try. I just wish I had some empanadas to go with it!
It's a vibrant red-magenta colour in the glass with a violet perfume and hints of leather and smoky red fruits. It has a plump rounded mouthfeel, with a perfectly balanced sweet and sour cherry and plum finish. Totally easy drinking and it definitely warmed me up after a couple of glasses 🍷
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes
