Black currant, raspberries and black cherry on the nose along with licorice and baking spice. On the palate, nice acidity followed with that black cherry, cherry cola flavor, and then roses. Lots of roses that soften into violets with a lingering smooth finish. We had the 2012 vintage in late May 2021 and it was lovely!

After some much needed breathing time, opened up into a ripe and spicy yummy Barolo.

Lighter body Barolo. Good summer find when it's 100 degrees and you want a little friendly red. Nice fruit and structure. Not sure if this benefits from a few more years. Drinking okay now.

Solid wine, lacking the spark of the 2011 and 2013.

Surprisingly very approachable. Med body, med tannin. Drinks in between a Barolo and Barbaresco.
