Dão White Blend

Celery seed. Super interesting. Not in a bad way! I would do it again.

Ok, I'm a sucker for the underdog grapes. Uva-Cão? Rabo-de-Ovelha? Encruzado? Siria? Anyone? This is a exotic white field blend comprised of 15 unique grapes. It seems simple at first, until you realize that each glass is different, the nuances just keep stacking on top of each other. Pair this with anything. It's a shape shifter.

Interesting chalky notes, nice balance, and good persistence. And only 16 dollars. The fruit is a touch overripe though.

White - From old vines, about 15 varieties with mixed and simultaneously fermented grape varieties. expressing the purity of Dão. Structure, body and acidity. Great and smooth balance, so characteristic of Dão.

Has a salty chalky vegetal, bitter, yet yellow fruity thing going on - all over the place. But it calms down with air and food. This isn’t a sipping wine. Paired very well with fish and chips. / edit : I liked this considerably more on day two, more harmonious and complete. Pair with schwarma-spiced grilled chicken thighs and Mediterranean feeeixins.

Great white for a quiet Sunday night. Didn’t know what to expect, but will definitely get this again.
