Two Acres Russian River Valley Red Blend

Ripe plum with chocolates notes and some VA. A bit much.

I’m a fan of the “twackers” in every vintage. Dark and rich, meaty mourvedre and inky petite sirah.

Have I already said how much I love mourvedre? Where else are you going to find a single vineyard blend that is mostly mourved, but also has petite sirah, carignane, syrah, and others? Way young but I couldn't resist.

Fun goings on!! Fruit, dried floral, dusty, earth, spice.

Took 10 days, 7 in the fridge and 3 on the countertop from opening for the funk to blow off the nose. Was delicious afterwards. Sure thought it would be dead by now.

Consistently my favorite Carlisle and that's saying something. Mourvedre heavy blend with petite sirah and others. Really shows what Russian River can do beyond pinot and chard. Delicious.

2011, 12.9% alcohol, mostly Mourvèdre, really good, mocha oak, highly structured, spicy, not very fruity

A nice field blend, though the tannins are a bit gritty and dry this time. Hopefully that smooths out. Flavor wise we have black raspberry, blueberry, a touch of meatiness from the Mourvedre and some sweet flowers. Great with BBQ #mightyquinns

I could drink a case of this and never get tired of it. Wow. Like the vineyard a great discovery for me
