The nose was dark and rich with crushed, spiced blackberry, plum and violet pastilles, which were perfectly offset by smoky minerals, pepper and dusty dried florals. On the palate, I found soft, creamy textures, yet not weighty. with spicy baked cherry, raspberry, and cinnamon as zesty acids added liveliness and drenching black fruits. It finished long and spicy with lingering dark fruit, spice and the slightest hint of heat. Another remakable value from #Carlisle, wow!

Just an appellation wine? This is incredibly rich and deep with incredible black fruit and sweet spices. The palate is like pure silk with saturating tart black fruit balanced by savory richness. Gorgeous.

Wonderfully well made super talent just too deep and dark for me...palettes evolve so maybe I'll come back to these.

Unfortunately I'm trending away from the black fruit of Carlisle. I like these wines and they are flawless just no longer my thing...still dig the zins

This wine is likely past its drinking window, or maybe just wasn’t stored properly. Nothing off about it, it was just kinda dead. Strangely still had a fair amount of oak and black fruit, but also a musty, mossy quality.

Over 16%. Would pair with barbecue. This style is perfect for a cool evening on the back deck.
