Caparsa
Chianti Classico Sangiovese

Slightly deeper ruby , medium garnet rim . Quite closed and meaty at first , herbal touches , cedar , some cherry fruit underneath , but quite serious . On the palate this has more density and a little more polished tannin quality . Spiced cherry , sage and cedar . Slightly deeper fruits . Longer on the palate , with quite firm tannins and bright acidity . Needs a little time , and food . Probably better in 5 years and will hold well a further 5-10

Solid 2021 Chianti from Radda. Decanted an hour and gave a slight chill which helped. Excellent with kinderhook pork chops with tutto porchetta seasoning. Great acid and finish.

Medium ruby with a medium wide quite light ruby garnet rim . Ripe spiced cherries , dried sage and thyme, black tea and earthy notes , touch of high toned volatility too. On the palate this is quite bright and red fruit focused , with spiced cherries , red plum , fresh herbs. Quite high refreshing acidity and slightly gritty tannins, balanced alcohol , with pretty decent , stony , red fruit tinged length . Certainly characterful and true to origin . Needs a couple of years but promising, perhaps come back in 5-8 years time for the best experience.

Delicious! Tart cherry, fairly rich and full. Tannins are present, but mostly resolved.

Really a very nice Chianti Classico from Radda. Purchased on sale from eataly for $24, great value. I do like many radda chiantis for their higher acid more high toned nature - this has that, but also brings a degree of wildness that is intriguing. Perfect pairing with a long simmered sausage ragu on a day that ended up being slightly warmer than anticipated for a meal like that.
