As his wine is reputed to age well, it will be interesting to see how it develops over the next 24 hours. Right now, 30 minutes after double decanting, it’s got an intense, almost pungently fruity nose that shows sweet crushed, spiced plums and intense crushed limestone powder. It’s quite old school in the mouth, however. It’s got intense cherry fruit and crushed stone minerality. Lots of very fine—grained tannins and good acids, this wine has a surprisingly long finish.

Light-bodied like an aged Nebbiolo. Piedmont on the nose and even on the palate. Very surprising and interesting. Just lacking the structure and richness. Like a good Nebbiolo di Langhe in its prime, with a less mouth filling kind of length.

Good new world expression of Nebbiolo. Light and rose perfumed, but with firm tannins and bright acidity in the mouth. Great value too.

I also dig it in a weird way, a Nebbiolo with lack of body and rather light, seems all so counterintuitive

Bright, clear magenta, mistakable for a dark rose. Gorgeous. Loamy mushrooms, tobacco, rose, and red fruit in a surprisingly quaffable balance.
