Vigneto Castellizzano Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Thought It was time to drink this one and it turns out I was wrong. 5 years ago would have been better. It’s losing some of its berry and floral pleasure to leather and dusty earth, with notes of raisins and dates. Not quite the elegance I had hoped for with dinner, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

Earth. Perfume.

Iron and Wine. Ripe, intense, long, delicious fruit and mineral balance. Crazy freshness...and opened about 20 years early

Very interesting and fun vintage Barbaresco! Notes of barbecued pork, campfire, charcoal, steel forge. Tannins have smoothed but still there and acidity is high, alcohol present but nicely integrated.

Perhaos something odd with this bottle a bit tinny along with anise and leather and cedar.

Time to drink this one. And this bottle perhaps a bit tired. Leather orange peel and earth.

Good, but not fine barbaresco. Somewhat imbalanced and rustic.

Talk about acidity. Holy cow. Bright redcurrant leather and manure laced mud.
