Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2019 pours a deeper garnet (than the Barbaresco) but otherwise the same with a transparent core, medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. On the nose, more power here too. A tar bomb early which settles in and takes a seat behind a basket full of black cherries, macerated blackberries, roses, orange rind, menthol, fresh sage and some dried basil and old wood. On the palate, bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Such a lovely body and don’t even get me started on the texture. I’m smitten. Drink now with patience through 2049. Thanks @Lyle Fass for the assist!

Awesome nose. Mulled spices, spice, berry fruit, complex, cherries, deep. Palate is remarkably fresh with awesome texture and sap. Such nice purity and killer inner mouth florals and spice. Opulent and so deep with again, just slamming purity. Sweet, succulent and perfectly ripe. Gorgeous stuff.

Nov 20th, 2019What a nose. Classic. Tar, roses, mineral, chestnut, lovely aromas, like an old library. Complex and juicy with fabulous depth and richness yet lovely balance, purity and freshness. Excellent wine. Gorgeous today will improve.

May 1st, 2019So lucky to work with Davide. Incredible wines and so inexpensive. Classic nose. Dark cherries, tar, licorice, flowers, feral, sinewy and awesome aromas. Palate is powerful, deep, rich and elegant. Firm tannins but chewy and filled with dark fruits. Great freshness and purity. Sappy and so clean. Wonderful. Juicy and so dense but the balance and purity are there and off the charts. This will age wonderfully.

Jul 29th, 2018One of the most preposterous Barolo values of my career. Stunning nose of gorgeous, vivid roses, insane roses, wow this has opened up. Just a sick sick Barolo nose. Licorice. Cherry flower. Palate is juicy, dense, complex and young. Darker cherries on the palate. Fresh, energetic and very vibrant with a substantial and deep structure. A bit young with toothsome tannin but what a wine and value. So pure.

Mos def a vintage that is not messing around. Dark blackberries. Some chocolate. Maybe a hint of mint. Very juicy though. Really excited there edge of the palate despite All of the dark fruits. Finish is luscious. Sweet fruit. Great wine. Bought from fass selections.

This was a HOT vintage. And making good wine was hard. A ton of it was hot.
This took the vintage and ran with it. It has dark fruits but they are balanced nose has hints of smoke and Cassis. Lilac aromatics. Fun fun fun to drink.
Nose flirts with Barolo spice.
If you love wine you love vintage variation. I wish I had more of this. A triumph.

Really a lovely Barolo. Have been waiting to try this one - glad I have more, but honestly drinking quite well now. Nice dark cherry. Tannins are still very much there, but tamed by a nice prime strip steak. Great acid on the long finish.
