Terrific wine. So fragrant. Cedar, spices, fragrant warm gravel, dark cherry. Dry, intense, and soft. Full, with intense, stony cherry flavors and great acidity. Will improve for at least 4-5 more years, but just fine right now.

Mad love for this producer. A Gattinara that really redefines what Gattinara can be. All about elegance and balance. So pretty. And this is an “inferior” vintage. Nose has some pretty forest. Palate is just so Burgundian. So pretty. So juicy. Just perfect early season cherry fruit. Just palate soaking juiciness. So fresh it’s hard to believe. Cherry spice. Such amazingly integrated spice. Finish is amazing. Almost savory. Almost pernand vergalessy Bought from Fass Selections. ... drinking this with French lentils and sausage which is culinary miscegenation but it works well. ... nose is evolving into this yummy dusty (in a good way) cherry melange. Palate is getting more mature. More cherry liquor. More serious and dense. But in a tight concentrated linear way not a blowsy fat way Finish has that gorgeous defined Nebbiolo fruit that you pay big money for. Longer and longer and really persistent. Literally blasts out and hits parts of your palate you didn’t know existed. This is getting Better and better. Try and hold a bottle for at least 5 years. This has star potential.

My kind of Nebbiolo. Not as opulent and in your face as our other producer, Il Chiosso. Gorgeous nose. Chestnut, flowers, tar, roses, very very aromatic. Juicy with lovely high toned acids and long lasting fruit. Good bold tannin that fleshes out with air. Lovely purity and freshness.

Lovely, briskly acidic, nice nose of rose hips and maraschino. Exactly what Alto Piemonte should be - sneaky depth but lighter and less roasted than its Barolo cousins. @Lyle Fass
