1996 vintage. From Jay. 1996 Bartolo Mascarello - Brief Note from Galloni Historical Retrospective Held in London April 26, 2016. Nice rich ruby colour. Red fruit. Cloves and brown spice on the nose. On the palette This is an angry and unforgiving tannic wine but there is some fruit buried in there - somewhere very deep. Needs time but it may get there eventually but I'm not sure it will ever shed its backward hostile style. 86/100. Drink 2020 to 2025.
