Paolo Cantele making a refreshing cameo surprise on this list. Drinking well with wood grilled chops, with the heat it opens up more after breathing a little for sure

Dark warm mushroomy earth with smoky dark black and blueberries. On the pallatte the same rings true but add cocoa and a solid streak of worn leather. Fun stuff.

Do not make the mistake to compare it to a Californian Zinfandel. True, it is the same varietal, but the outcome is a totally different experience, being the Primitivo a lot rougher, literally primitive! Nonetheless, it is a fascinating product, which deserves an appreciation.

This way was everything I want out of a Primitivo however it's a bit more drinkable and some of the ones I've had in the past. Smoke black pepper and just the slightest hint of dark berry this was a very tasty drinkable wine. Paired perfectly with turkey and cranberry sauce.
