Tight and tart the first night, more open and friendly on night 2. Nose features very pure, just-ripe raspberries, and nice notes of spice and sandalwood. Fruity but dry and zingy in the mouth. Very cleansing. Great cheap weeknight dinner or backyard party wine. I got it for $9 on sale at a local supermarket!

Actually a really pleasing and interesting example of Garnacha that offers a gratifying study of the grape on Spanish soil. Light- to medium-bodied, with gentle tannins but enough acidity to keep it lively. Would buy again at £7/btl & surely one of the best supermarket / high street Spanish reds.

A great fall back that is easy to find in most areas. Ripe red fruit, pepper notes and a smooth, round mouthfeel make this very approachable.

I may have rated this wonderful Rioja before, but every time I have it with my meal I enjoy it all over again. Very good, highly recommended.
